Playing Catchup

Whew! What a week!

  • Cam got his computer up -finally-, so he should post here….
  • Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for the DS has been beaten by me and is awesome. I recommend everyone who likes RPGs or adventure games, get it.
  • I filled out an application for a job at Best Buy online. Yes, A JOB! I figured it’s about time for me to get a real job since the home computer repair racket this summer is slow as all Hell. I’m going in for an interview Wednesday! w00t!
  • The guys over at IGN have started a Red Steel Developer Diary. That game looks awesome. One word: swordfighting. Sweet. Nintendo rocks.

Today, we remember a great dog, who was with us for almost 10 wonderful, long, years, after coming home from the pound, found abandoned by her previous owners, and covered in fleas and ticks. We will remember her as part of our family, always. Good girl…. This is the way I want to remember her.

Oblivion Link

After much tweaking, an action figure for reference, and some support from the Nintendo forums, my character for Oblivion is ready! My I present: Link! Continue reading ‘Oblivion Link’

Short Thought

Graphics don’t mean shit if there’s no gameplay. Finally, someone else besides Nintendo (and myself) realizes this. If only I had the balls to write down as much as I think, I would’ve produced this same article: The Uncanny Valley and Wii. I guess this same concept can be said for Oblivion, no?

X3 + IVO = WTH?

Hey guys! I just wanted to say that I just saw X3: The Last Stand, and it was pretty good! A certain amount of people die in the movie, and that’s all I’m going to tell you…oh, and you should watch the end credits ’till the end to get a hidden surprise. OK, seriously, no more from me about that. The Oblivion DVD is calling for me to install it….

Decisions, Decisions…

Oblivion or Nintendo DS Lite…Nintendo DS Lite or Oblivion? Hmmm…considering that my Nintendo DS (normal) will still be worth $60 for awhile, and that the Lite will be out only a week on Sunday, I think I’ll blow some dough on Oblivion. On that note, my friend Jimmy got a Lite, and I have to say, the screens are AMAZING! You may notice ghosting a teeny bit more, and there is some weird color bleeding (for example, white against a dark background may produce a very small hint of blue between them), but it’s awesome! I’ll definitely pick up a DS Lite when my next job rolls around. Oh, and back on track with Oblivion, this is the funniest review for it (or any other game) I’ve ever seen!! The guy’s blog is very funny as well!

Interesting News Tidbits

We now return to your regularly scheduled blog

OK, now that everything is back to normal with my computer and other things, I can continue blogging. Since I am now bringing this computer to school, I’m thinking about toning down my application use. I use a lot of misc. applications on my school computer, since it really didn’t feel like it was mine, so I allowed myself to experiment. I’m thinking about moving my calendar to Google Calendar. Normally, I would use Calendarscope, which is a very good program. I’ve decided that my information needs to be movable instead of locked in a file on some computer…well, it still is on a very basic level. I guess what I mean to say is that I want my information to be accessible from anywhere. For anyone that doesn’t use Outlook for their calendar functions (and you would be wise not to), I would recommend Google Calendar. They are also going to improve the calendar to handle tasks (think: to-do list). Calendarscope currently does this, although I don’t use that function. I would normally put my things to do in Google Desktop’s To-Do List plugin. Having to-do lists integrated right there with the calendar on the sidebar would be great! Oh, also: Google Earth is now at version 4. Go get the beta (or see some new features)!
