Going Online is Pointless (Almost)

Mario VS Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis just came out on Monday for the Nintendo DS. I just got it Thursday, and I have to say, it’s a fun, nostalgic puzzler. I haven’t played a good puzzle game in awhile. But one of the things I really don’t get the is Wireless (Online) Mode. You can download puzzles that Nintendo makes. They’ll release one per week, for 8 weeks. This doesn’t sound like much, but now this is where the real fun begins…you can download puzzles that your friends make! Awesome! Oh wait…you don’t have any friends that have the game? OK…uh-huh…yup, you’re screwed. Continue reading ‘Going Online is Pointless (Almost)’

Tiny Refuge

dt2

The USB key pictured above is my only refuge during my most boring classes for the next couple of weeks. Why, you ask? Well, the hard drive in my Dell Inspiron XPS (Generation 1), which was only a bit more than 2 years old, died last Wednesday (9/20). Couple that with the 2 basically dead batteries, and I figured it’s time to get a new laptop.

I am actually on it right now, typing this up. It’s basically BartPE with a bunch of plugins to make my wireless card work on this laptop. It was a pain in the ass, but it was worth it! I’m happy I did it, since I’m in a really boring class as I type this. Hopefully, my shiny, new HP dv6000t should come soon.

Gaming News for Sept. 27 ‘06

  • Some people took apart a Wii Nunchuk controller here and here. I agree with Nintendo’s MSRP of $20 USD for this.
  • If you haven’t seen it already, 5 minutes of Wii gameplay footage from many different games.
  • Zelda graffiti made out of beer coasters!
  • Trippy Japanese Famicom SMB Minus World
  • Nintendo’s giving DS gamers what they want in Europe, sans the official boxes…for now.
  • Rumor: Wal-Mart fears kid injury, or they just don’t have the demo units yet.

Sonic Shuffle

My roommate has a Dreamcast, and he has the weirdest games for it…Gunbird II, Sonic Shuffle, etc. Sonic Shuffle is the worst Mario Party ripoff, with long loading times and pointless button mashing minigames, but the best stuff in terms of screenshots.
